Nurses and Healthcare Professionals Take Action in Lawsuit
to Protect Patients, Voters

Madison, WI--The Wisconsin Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals (WFNHP), a union of professional healthcare workers, joined the American Federation of Teachers– Wisconsin, Service Employees International Union, and the Milwaukee Area Service and Hospitality Workers in the filing of a lawsuit challenging the partisan, sour grapes power grab by Wisconsin legislative Republicans.

“We work tirelessly to protect affordable, accessible healthcare for the people of Wisconsin, and voters agreed last November: they wanted to expand Medicaid and keep the Affordable Care Act. But before Governor Evers has even had a chance to make good on those efforts, Republicans changed the rules for their own political benefit,” said Candice Owley, RN, President of WFNHP. “It’s time to end these harmful political ploys and restore our government back to health. Halting these lame duck laws is the right first step.”
