AFT-Oregon is seeking a full-time field representative. Field representatives are responsible for assisting, advising, and training local leaders and activists in building a strong union. Responsibilities include developing issues-based organizing plans, building worksite leader systems, member organizing, negotiating bargaining agreements, handling grievance processes, political activation and education, and leadership development.

Our grievance over UConn Health’s failure to provide double time to hourly employees who continued to report to work during the pandemic has been denied in arbitration. This is the final step in our fight. See the arbitrator’s full ruling.

AFT-Maryland successfully held their 2021 Triennial Convention virtually. Although it was heartbreaking not to be together in person, the virtual convention came as close to recreating the feeling of worker solidarity and forward progression for the state federation as possible.
