Wisconsin Federation of Nurses & Health Professionals' Owley Applauds National Union's Endorsement of Hillary Clinton for President

Milwaukee--On Saturday, the executive council of the American Federation of Teachers voted overwhelmingly to endorse Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary for president of the United States. The AFT is the first national union to endorse in the Democratic presidential primary.

Candice Owley, RN, who is president of the Wisconsin Federation of Nurses & Health Professionals and an AFT vice president, lauded the endorsement saying, "While Republicans like Wisconsin's Gov. Scott Walker keep trying to break unions and dismantle healthcare, Hillary Clinton has a solid record of fighting on behalf of our families and communities. She has a long history as a champion of healthcare and women's rights."

"The AFT's endorsement comes at the perfect time, just days before Walker announces his bid for the presidency. We will do whatever we can to support Hillary's candidacy and make sure there's a real champion for working families in the White House."
