For four hours on Saturday moring the Board held a workshop to discuss the different options available to them for servicing the debt on the proposed $2,000,000 CTE loan. Among the results of this meeting, the Board advised the District Office staff to dip into JPA funds in order to reduce the burden on the general fund. The Bessie Tartt Initiative for Children has issued a new report entitled, “The State of the Early Education Workforce: Removing Barriers to Access and Advancement.” The study, based on face-to-face meetings with early educators throughout the state, illustrates the issues of compensation, access to educational opportunities, and the need for prompt action on these important education issues.
