#Strike Vote!!!

Hospital management gave us an ultimatum to accept or reject their “best” offer. The offer does not address our priorities, and we are rejecting it. Management has also continued to violate the law and commit unfair labor practices.  We believe it is time to take a stand for PPE, wage equity, safe patient limits and decent healthcare. A super-majority of nurses have said they want to strike. That’s why the negotiation committee has decided to call for a strike vote!

Ask the Senate Education Committee to Support SB 31

One of the most important bills that we will hear in this abbreviated legislation is Senate Bill 31 by Senator Cleo Fields. If passed, this bill would prohibit the use of statewide student assessments conducted during the 2020-2021 school year from being used to evaluate teacher performance. Essentially, schools could (and likely would) still have testing this year, but the scores couldn't count against a teacher's performance evaluation.

The BCFPE Elections Committee has concluded the local's 2020 Election of Officers, with results provided by Elections USA, Inc. The new officers are as follows:
