North Attleboro Staff Raise Alarm on School Building Air Safety

"It is the responsibility of everyone, regardless of if you are a teacher, a school principal, or school committee member, to ensure the safest school environment possible, especially in the middle of a Pandemic that has already killed nearly 200,000 people in this nation," said Nicole Reminder, President of the North Attleboro Federation of Teachers. "Why has the district not released an assessment of the HVAC for the public to see?"

Disaster Relief Efforts

So many neighborhoods in Southwest Louisiana have been devastated by the storm. Rouses' Markets are sending truckloads of bottled water, food and supplies to area food banks to help us distribute to those in need. Labor Day

This has certainly been an unusual year, but none-the-less, Monday is Labor Day already.  Created and maintained as a national holiday for over 120 years., Labor Day is exactly what it sounds like: it is a day set aside to honor and commemorate all that labor unions have contributed to the work environment.  All of the gains achieved through the labor movement have had a tremendous, positive, and noteable impact on the wages, hours, and working conditions of this country.   Enjoy your holiday, celebrate safely.  9/4/2020

New Paid Parental Leave Program

In accordance with the Governor’s announcement on August 25, 2020, the Commonwealth is instituting a Paid Parental Leave program, to be effective October 15, 2020 for those employees who work in agencies under the Governor’s jurisdiction, in accordance with the following parameters:

Sick Family Leave - Five (5) Day Cap Modification

FOSCEP Brothers and Sisters,

Due to the current state of emergency related to the coronavirus pandemic, the Commonwealth is temporarily increasing the five (5) day limitation on Sick Family Leave usage in each calendar year to a fifteen (15) day limitation on Sick Family Leave usage within a calendar year.

This modification will retroactively take effect March 30, 2020 and will expire with the expiration of the Governor's Proclamation of Disaster Emergency or the end of the current calendar year whichever occurs sooner.
