 Milwaukee County’s 2010 Budget Cuts Update

ISSUE:  This week, the Milwaukee County Finance & Audit Committee:

·         VOTED 6-0 to RESTORE CUTS to the Community Support Programs (CSP) and Targeted Case Management (TCM).
[Voting in favor were Supervisors Thomas, Mayo, Schmidt, Johnson, West and Jursik. Sup. Coggs was absent.]

·       VOTED 4-2 AGAINST an amendment sponsored by Supervisor Willie Johnson to RESTORE FUNDING to BHD’s Day Treatment Program.
[Voting in favor were Supervisors Johnson and West. Voting against the amendment were Supervisors Thomas, Mayo, Schmidt, and Jursik. Sup. Coggs was absent.]
                                               

WHAT’S NEXT:   The recommendations of the Finance & Audit Committee will now go before the Whole County Board for a vote, and then to the County Executive. 

                                            

WHAT YOU CAN DO:      

 

·         CALL TODAY and thank the County Supervisors who voted in favor of restoring these vital County Programs/Services, and call and urge the other County Supervisors to support the CSP, TCM and Day Treatment Program.

·         SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR COUNTY PROGRAMS/SERVICES!  Attend the County Board Public Hearing on the County Executive’s 2010 Recommended Budget, Monday, November 2nd at 7pm at the Washington Park Senior Center.
