Some members have asked questions about the status of the contract. The contract is signed and approved and is due to arrive from the printer this week. You can expect to receive your copy of the new contract from your union rep later this week.
It is effective from January 2009 through December 31, 2011. What this means is that you will get your raises in 2010 and 2011 and your step increases and your insurance plan will be the same as it is now with some slight increase in premium in 2010 and 2011. You may be reading about many proposals dealing with County employee wages and benefits, but none of this applies to you or the members of our union. Fortunately, we settled our contract earlier this year so you are protected.
